I’m still a novice with my wheels but have been trying it out on a mix of surfaces, and so far so very good. I had one scary moment with a camber but appreciate that this is a tricky area and practice will make perfect. It was really helpful that this was discussed when I was trying out the chair at the Glasgow showroom, and I’ve seen lots of advice about this online too.
I’m very happy with my freedom elite! Had issues on delivery which were sorted with great customer service. Chair is easy to use, love the auto fold, very useful as I struggle bending. Removable controls are nice for storage. Putting the chair through its paces, it has done well on most surfaces but did really struggle on semi-loose slate. Easy to fold away and lighter than I was expecting but still ~30kg The bag at the bottom doesn’t fit brilliantly but that may be because I ordered the larger battery for long outings and you can’t remove the mesh bags on the sides which make the aftermarket official bag fit a little poorly. Overall it’s been brilliant, very impressive for the money too and the decent customer service really helped. I’ve ordered numerous accessories since. Roll on good times!
It arrived quickly and well packaged. The motor is powerful and the seat is comfortable. The auto folding is a life saver because it means I can put it away myself with my car hoist . It is heavier than my last folding wheelchair - likely due to the automatic folding feature - so it is more of a struggle for my companions to lift into the car boot, but it is definitely doable for an able-bodied person. I’m very excited to take it abroad on holiday as it will give me so much independence and freedom.
Great experience from start to finish. Only issue I’ve come across is when chair folds the foot plate hits the ground, and scuffs the paint work making the chair look older.

It's been wonderful to be able to revisit the places where I used to mountain bike and never thought to see again. The chair takes me up steep gravel tracks high onto the moors of Swaledale, the all terrain rear wheels, motor and battery being just the right combination. The self folding mechanism and ramps mean we can get it into the boot of our Kia Sportage and drive to our old haunts. Buying it has been a game changer.
Great bit of kit, well made, very versatile in cramped spaces, and comfortable. Easy to get in and out of the car, easy to use and easy to fold and unfold.
I’m ninety but getting used to the controls have been easy ! The only difficulty I find is how sensitive joystick is - managed to pass the bus exam yesterday found joystick control difficult Apart from my one difficulty I absolutely love the Rtech wheelchair -?it is sturdy but light and I feel so secure when driving over all paths pavements The reclines is great to - its the “Bees Knees!!!
Lots of questions answered on phone, As I was nervous about ordering with out seeing but a 6 hour round trip would of made visiting Birmingham impossible however It can manage slopes! My last scooter couldn’t get up road near me (live Pendle hill Yorkshire dales way) This is only chair I saw that was folding that could do a 20% slope. Design faults hate the single pedal but that’s minor Also had to put a back cushion in as the angle was painful for my back but again solvable, I also could do with deeper cushion near back of seat. (Working on solution) However brilliant brilliant brilliant we went the park in the sunshine first 5 days for 1st time in over a year and managed canal paths which my scooter couldn’t (still hate cobbles though) manages dropped kerb lips with ease. Once I get hoist in boot as I still cannnot lift on my own I will be independent again totally but oh it’s good to get out really pleased as I say few little tweaks for me needed but great buy and I wouldn’t hesitate again staff on phone where fantastic and sent email videos on advice re driving as I’m used to scooter not wheelchair.
The Freedom Elite really does live up to its name! I've had it a week and so far I've really put it through its paces. I wanted a chair that would not only excel on flat surfaces - I wanted adventure and I've got it! We've been for walks along paved paths, gravel paths, woodland and up a steep and rutted bridleway I never thought would be possible, but it is!!! It's coped with uneven trails, jagged rocks and tree roots. Yes they were a challenge, but with a change up in power, a carefully planned route missing the worst bits and the peace of mind of having solid tyres, I did it! I've got my freedom back! I can't recommend this chair highly enough.
Really comfortable very responsive i feel so independent since owing it , I have had a manual wheelchair for 5yrs and this has been a game changer.
Not a bad wheelchair in the electric lightweight wheelchair division, a sleek elegant design, responsive controller and the 300w motors makes this wheelchair nippy and easy turning, comfortable seating and backing makes for great comfort, my only fault being the controller set at a high level compared to the armrests of the wheelchair, mounted onto a flat plate and slid underneath the armrest to secure in place, this sets the joystick at an uncomfortable position for driving, I replaced the metal plate with a U shaped design bring it into alignment and a more natural position for driving.
Chair is very comfortable, and feels. Very secure over uneven/rougher ground. Very pleased with it!
It came next day and was well packaged, when my daughter got it all out the box a random nut fell out bottom of box and trying to find if it came off chair somewhere atm 🤷♀️ It is sturdy and auto fold will help me immensely to be more independent. Not as comfy as my old chair as I’d hoped and buying lots of back cushions to try as I live in a lot of pain and can’t sit easily BUT handles much better. I’ve only used once so far as can’t get it in car yet as I bought the ramps and they are no good if you can’t manage to lift front of chair up off ground before remote it up ramp as it’s quite heavy but it didn’t slide into roads on every camber or skid and drift on the bus like my old chair does so feels much safer. Bit rattly over cobbles and bumps.
I will post electric chair photos I hope tomorrow. Im delighted with it thank you! Only small problem is the black cables which join together have unclipped once causing chair to stop. I have covered join with selotape to make secure and its fine 🙂 Lovely chair to travel in and drive. Highly recommend.

Really needs a start up guide to tell you what to charge and how to sort out the connections for first time. Haven’t managed to use it properly yet as joystick is very sensitive and you need quite a large area to practice… jury is still out with me here I’m afraid.
It’s lovely they are great chairs I wish I could view them all in the show room then I would of got your best one on the market that’s the trouble not viewing them all I bought it for the atomic folding but now i see how good they are made I’m sure the best one is easy to fold I’ve not been out on it yet thanks
Just what i needed
Apart from a few odd quirks before the first outing it was everything I hoped it would be. I had to phone for assistance twice, but both operators were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. My problem was that the voice kept saying "lock" and would not move. This was sorted and the voice was deactivated. Then I tried to use it and it went backwards instead of forwards, and left instead of right. The second call to help line sorted that. On my first outing I felt very safe, I am used to a scooter so it is a very different experience. We went through the town, around the supermarket and around the Marine Festival which is on grass, and slopes around the lake. I am very pleased I got the auto folding model, but we haven't gone out in the car yet. I am hoping to try a train day out, which will be a test of my confidence and it's comfort. Very easy to steer and has got quite a bit of power. I love it!
First saw Etech advertise on instagram and checked out their website. Have been a mobility scooter user for over 26 years then moved onto powerchair a few years back always using a local company. After having various discussions with the Etec team I decided to take the plunge and purchase the Freedom Pro Elite Automatic folding electric chair. Its study, it feels safe and handles various terrains smoothly. The seating it comes with is comfortable and I didn’t need any other cushions. The AF is a delight and you can use the remote or the joystick to start the folding process. The remote can also control the chair. Great when kids are around because they think your magic!! I already had a hoist fitted in my car, so this helps with the lifting in and out meaning I am totally independent. Great Chair, Great Choice of Colours, Great prices and a great team of staff who are patient with you when you have many questions. Thank you, for all your help & would definitely recommend Etech. . The chair is much more stable than the folding scooter I had from Devilbiss previous to the Freedom auto fold I have now. It's very agile and gives me freedom to go into shops/restaurants and not worry about dragging clothes rails with me (unlike a scooter). I
Exceptional value for money, sturdy, well equipped and the team at e tech are great. As for long term, I am unable to make an appraisal as yet as I have only had the chair for a few weeks.

An excellent wheelchair. I am very pleased with the chair and the quality. The range of 30 miles is amazing. The automatic fold option is great once you get the hang of it. I was told that once the chair is folded I could drive it up ramps into the car boot using the remote control. I have not found this the case as the small wheels fold in and are unable to be used. A little disappointed but still an impressive wheelchair

Wow, just wow!! The ease of the automatic folding makes life easier for my wife. The wheelchair is so easy to use and has such a great turning circle with the slightest hand movement on joystick. So happy that it's given me more freedom!!

The wheelchair arrived the next day as promised and it is just what my wife and I needed. I am still letting her get used to it as she has dementia and it’s a slow process. If I have any criticisms it would be that despite being called lightweight it is still fairly heavy and that the controls are very sensitive, however I’m sure it is just a matter of time and getting used to them I would still highly recommend one to anyone thinking about buying a powered wheelchair.
Having had a different electrical wheelchair, stolen, I loved, I was quite critical this time , but I can honestly say that I love this one. So far so good. My husband does not have to stand in the rain trying to remember how to fold it up! Thank you for your prompt delivery as I was stuck without it! Many thanks!
