I'm 80 years of age and up to now have been a very active wheelchair user, but last year a dicky ticker struck, and I've had to re assess my mobility needs, I first contacted Etech about one of there other lightweight chairs, I explained where I live and the hilly terrain, I was then advised to buy the freedom elite AR, when it arrived the day after I paid for it, I was over the moon with the quality of the product and it's power range, around Paignton Devon, I'm one happy customer with my purchase.
What amazing experience.staff was very professional told me everything about my new chair and let me try lots of wheelchairs outside until I was happy .thank you to you and all your staff for my chair it arrived writhing 48 hours and on time. I highly recommend them if your needing a scooter or a wheelchair chair
The manoeuvrability is superb! I hadn’t realised that although it reclines beautifully the legs don’t lift (which I might have benefitted from) but the style, customer service are all superb.
I would pay extra to have it delivered already set up rather than boxed but this does not detract from the superb wheelchair and brilliant customer service.
Right I brought this chair back in December 2025.
And I have spent a great deal of time waiting to write a review due to wanting to test the chair properly.
In all scenarios was my thinking and today I reached that goal.
I must explain that I brought a chair from mobility plus and took it back to them within 3 days of purchase.
Reason being was it on 3 occasions put me out in the road on a drive way camber I felt unsafe at it was a very bad experience.
So i reached out to the guys at etech and boy oh boy what an absolute difference.
Helpful from the start knowledgeable on every aspect of the products they sell.
Amazing demonstration when we went up to Birmingham and was greeted by Michael there was no hard sell just honest straight forward advice from a great guy.
So we picked our chair and home we came.
Since then I have put it through its paces 100% today was a muddy at times field and it coped with it well although due to me being silly I got it stuck once but sorted it well on the recovery.
I have studied the design of the chair and in all honesty the one thing that gives it its stability is the wider struts on the front wheels without a doubt.
Cushions are comfortable chair is comfortable over heavy stoney ground.
Handles cambers with great easy and at no time have I felt unsafe whatsoever.
After sales service is so helpful it is amazing truly amazing nothing is to much trouble.
I have and will remain to push this chair as due to going in and out of hospital due to having terminal cancer some of the pathways are extremely steep again handles it fantastically.
So in my opinion if you are looking for a chair that does what it says on the tin then etech are the company to go to.
There was one thing that I took up with them and that is the fiddly velcro strap that is used to hold the chair closed I find it hard due to the neuropathy in my hands so ordered a flat bungee strap in the photos which helps me out greatly.

Me and my partner made the 2 and a half hour drive to the showroom after booking an appointment that morning over the phone. it was unfortunately raining so we were unable to test the wheelchair outside but i tried it indoors and was very pleased. everything was thoroughly explained and they answered questions i didnt even realise i had. i already knew what wheelchair i wanted since i had been researching for months and kept coming back to the automatic recline freedom powerchair. its perfect for what i need it for and so affordable! it has completely exceeded my expectations im so happy with it, i have tested it in different terrains and it copes very well on wet grass, wooded areas, gravel, bark etc. its great on curbs and does well on slanted paths. ive had it for over a month and it has been great. the waterproof cover was a bit tricky at first but now i just keep the velcro loosely done up and slide it over the handle and joystick when needed. it isnt the easiest but it is the best one i could find online. there is a separate controller for a carer to use which is super handy. they can take control in stressful situations or when you cant quite see how much space you have. its also great for bringing the wheelchair to/from the car boot. the headrest is great and adjustable but can be awkward taking it on/off as a small plastic piece sticks to the headrest. you gotta take this off the headrest and put it back in the slot before putting the headrest back on it. also the handles can be slightly awkward as the thread is too long on them so if you screw the handle on too tight then the plastic inside crushes into the metal thread and then you cant take the handles off. it just spins on the spot - we have called them and they are happy to send another handle to me if i am able to get this one off if it is too damaged to go back on. the only other thing is the velcro strap that they give you to keep the chair folded is rough and a bit short / there isnt designated places for it to loop through. it has made the thread on my leather cushions come loose and tear so a leather strap would probably be better. all this being said, the chair is absolutely great! it fits in the boot well and gets around amazing. so so happy with this. super affordable and multi terrain. also have a video of me going up a steep grassy hill in wet weather and it did very well!
Excellent all round from Oder to delivery next day ! Very robust very easy to operate, I would recommend to anyone who needs a chair that will do what you ask of it
Great chair, feel much safer than mu.ld carbon fiber can. Handles slopes, gravel, long grass with no problems. It doesnt cope with steep cambers, but I think this may be the case with all chairs in this class.
The company were great when it came to helping me to choose which powered wheelchair to go for. Delivery was very quick. I found the instructions regarding charging the batteries a little confusing as I don't know how to tell what percentage of charge there is left when looking at the lights on the joystick.
It is taking a while to get used to manoeuvring the chair but I managed a few days in London with it which I couldn't have done without it.
I was disappointed with the bag I bought for the arm of the chair, it doesn't fit well. I'm also having trouble finding a bottle holder which will fit the chair properly, it would be good if the company supplied one which is suitable. Overall though I'm very happy with it and looking forward to getting some freedom back!

From our 1st visit to our delivery everything went smoothly . Have been out and about in it getting used to it and have to say it's brilliant. I feel safe using it and have been on grass ,gravel and uneven ground including adverse cambers. I also went up a hill near us ,the chair sailed up it fine but I have to say I found it a little more challenging! 😂 So glad I purchased my chair from Etec the guys in the sales room were great too ,very knowledgeable, patient and no hard sell.

I have to say my response as to how I
am managing to adjust to this chair is far more challenging than I originally thought it would be. It is not particularly comfortable and the leg extension rests that I purchased separately are certainly not doing what they. Are supposed to do. All in all, I am not entirely satisfied with my purchase.

But the prices of everything was so much cheaper than any of the other companies i had researched

I needed a high-back head-supporting transportable model which could also handle a bit rougher terrain when necessary, like country paths/beaches, and thought I'd never find one. But then I found this, and it's been totally amazing so far, opening up a world which had been closed to me for years.
This chair is very well built, easy to control once you get the hang of it, looks pretty cool, and is easy to transport (quite heavy, but that's because it's so sturdy).
Wonderful to be able to participate in life & be in nature again. Thanks so much to the E-tech team for giving me my freedom back 🌟
This chair has given me so much more freedom, I cried when I first used it , only downside is it's quite heavy so my support worker struggles to lift it in to the boot but it's 100% worth it , I'm so grateful to have this chair , thank you so much xx

Comfortable ride, love the reclining backrest and i bought the adjustable leg rests too so my knees arent at 90°all the time. Very easy to steer and has a good choice of speeds for indoor and outside spaces. The ability to charge up your phone is a genius idea. I also appreciate the ease of taking the batteries in and out to make lifting it lighter. Very satisfied customer
