These are great, although they are quite far out once fitted. I bought these as my previous power chair had a single footrest and over time it bent down so that it would hit the slightest raised paving stones and throw me out of the chair. I thought these legs wouldn’t cause this problem, and they don’t. I only have short legs and if I use the calf supports I find it difficult to reach. I have emailed etech but haven’t heard back yet.
I delayed this review to be sure to give an honest opinion after thorough testing of the leg extensions. I'm 6' with long legs so I needed full extension but angled to ensure sufficient ground clearance. I felt that the prongs at the mounting points were quite loose in their slots. I've shimmed them with thin plastic to reduce wear and tear from excessive movement. I also found that the clamps for setting the angle couldn't be tightened up enough to maintain that angle and gradually slid down. I corrected that by remounting the calf supports higher and this required new holes drilling for the locking bolts. That said, I'm now very happy with them and find the new foot position very comfortable!
My son is enjoying each chance to use his new wheelchair; it's a beautiful machine and he adores it, the weather hasn't been so good to get out but he has practiced indoors and in and out the backdoor when weather allows. We are very pleased with our purchase and the help we received from very friendly staff; there are videos also to download which put words to actions which also help a great deal. Just to sit and look at this wheelchair makes you smile at its beauty and strength; this will be with my son for years. Thank you ETech for both help and wheelchair
My wife has an E Tech mobility electric wheelchair and she has been very happy from the day it arrived She has to undergo hospital procedures every 6 weeks, and she has to sit in the wheelchair for at least 3 hours. We had been taking a stool, for her to raise her feet up on (she is Paraplegic). I contacted E Tech and asked if there was an accessory available. The helpful man in customer services sent me a link immediately for the leg raiser addition. I went back saying that was exactly what we wanted. He also described how easy to fit them. I immediately bought them, they arrived within two days, fitted same day and my wife was very happy at the next Hospital visit. Thank you E Tech Mobility, Highly recommend them.
Sorry that there is no Disney film to show them off, but they don't need it they're absolutely brilliant ,more comfortable for movement, and when the wife is in a shop for an hour, sitting with your legs together is a no no, special with a problem down below, now I don't mind waiting for outside the shop . A great product easily fitted ask for the video, they explain it well, a good investment, Could do with with 2 rubber grommets to cover the bolt heads on the top where the legs slot in . So that's it so thank you ET🧑🦼 Brian.
When removing the caps to insert the leg rest you are left with a uncovered bolt which gathers dust and rain. There should be another smaller cap to cover the bolt.
Easy to attach
My first steps when getting on or off the chair are not good. I thought the leg extensions would help. Unfortunately they don't If any thing they make me more unsteady on my feet. Not Etechs fault I.had to try them
It is indeed easy to put the extensions on your chair or remove them, they simply slide in and out of the sockets. Assuming you have the capabilities to see what you are doing or have a helper to do it for you otherwise it could be awkward to do it yourself, Swivelling would have been much much easier and doable for most. Even if you can remove it when it is neither wanted nor needed you face possible annoyances / problems. What do you do with them ? Leave them on the ground? Try to carry them around on your person. If you have a helper they can remove and possibly store them, although not sure where they could be stored. I am fortunate in that I am able to get off my seat and can utelise the extensions without help, though storage is an issue. As is getting on and off the seat with the extension present. You have no alternative but to remove one of them which is easy but what do you with it whilst you are trying to get off your chair. Again swivelling would be much better. The answer to these issues would be the ability for them to swivel, which is what most extensions do. If you have a helper these can be largely overcome, but, if you do not have a helper you will likely struggle or not use them. With some conditions, lymphedema for example, or if you are a large( fat) person they may be uncomfortable on the back of your calves. The pads are not greatly adjustable the adjustability is not great. Considering these are designed to be used by disabled wheelchair users it is relevantly quick and easy to adjust but only if you have a helper. EVERY Adjustment has to made and tried again once or twice till it is right. In doing this you need to use allen keys and spanners/screwdriver to make the adjustment then try it out, then make further adjustment. You will get frustrated but only initially.. Once it is adjusted you will likely not need to adjust again. Much easier with a helper. Should you get them ? If you have a helper, yes. If you don't, consider your capabilities and remember, they don't swivel so you will have to physically deal with them when not in use or you move seats.
Really pleased with chair. Husband been ill so not used by all the family. Instructions for recline on remote were tricky and have not yet tried with the joystick being used by the carer but hopefully will be fine. Otherwise seems a good quality, comfortable chair so thank you very much.
The extended foot rests mean I can travel around in total comfort and enhances my comfort with my new chair. Brilliant

The leg extensions arrived promptly I had to ring and ask for advice on fitting them, I was sent an email which made it very easy They have done the job
Easy to move around
The quick release clamps are made of plastic, and are unable to grip the metal shaft adequately to stop them sinking under load. This may not be an issue for other users, but I suffer from oedema, so have quite heavy legs.
Difficult initially to fit.

Due to various hip surgeries and fractures, my mother in law has difficulty with positioning her feet securely on typical footplates. She cannot bend her knees well and her feet do not naturally si close together. The elevating leg extensions were the perfect solution. Her feet stay on the footplates and are supported in a really comfortable position. They were also easy and quick to fit...following the instructional video provided. Thank you to all staff at Etech Mobility, especially those in customer service who were very knowledgeable about their products and went above and beyond to send them out at quickly as possible. I bought these extensions as they allow my legs to sit at a more natural position. They are also adjustable to raise them. I have found them very easy to use. Drawbacks they dont swivel out of they way like on my normal wheelchair.
Easy to fit to chair, sturdy and well made, not had to use at the moment but really pleased I’ve got the differing options for when required.
I am shortly having an operation on my subtalar joint and will be in plaster. These elevating leg rests will enabke me to keep the leg elevated for the 3 months in non weight bearing plaster. An excellent additiin to my chair.

Great leg rests but very difficult to get the existing end caps out to fit them as part of the framework blocks the holes. Once you have removed the end caps you can’t get them back in if you want to use the fitted footplate instead again so it would be nice to be provided with slightly modified replacement end caps for when you don’t want them on the chair.
They looked and were good. Just not suitable for our Disabled Son 😕
It would have been handy if there was an option t9 have them fitted before delivery
The leg rests are ok. A faff to put on as you have to prise off the cap covering bolts and no replacement is given so you have open bolt head after. The angles on the metal surround dig in. The footplates tip down and if you want them not to drag on floor for long legs have to have stuck out right infront making tuning circle huge. They really wobbly when inserted in and a right faff to adjust length of. The angle adjustment is easy but you need a fair bit of strength to keep the clip tight so it can support weight of leg. Helps stop my leg swelling as much but poor design in my opinion. Needs clips similar to cool crutches for adjustment and plate needs to not move.
This is not appropriate for me and was not well described in the original order, hence it was not money well spent. A shame.
Length adjustment inadequate. Calve pads too small, not movable.
They fit well, as of yet I have not been able to get outside, But from just sitting on the chair it is more comfortable for me. Being able to adjust the angle for my knees is excellent.

Very good electric wheelchair
The extensions are great easy to fit and take off if you want to use the other fold down foot rest.
Easy to install and remove which takes away the stress for the user and carers.
Easy ordering process and quick delivery footrests are easy to adjust and very comfortable
Great just what I needed to help stop my legs from swelling up so much .
The foot rest attached to the chair was a little uncomfortable for me and tended to catch at times on uneven ground. Finding that adjustable foot rests could be fitted negated these problems. Have had limited use with them but they seem to do the job.
Take a little bit to get use to but very nice
