Limited Edition Purple Lightweight Electric Wheelchair | Freedom Pro ST

The Freedom Pro ST in limited edition purple with the wider seat space is the wheelchair I chose from Etech Mobility. Although I haven't been able to get outside yet as I need to get ramps to get across the door step, I have been using it indoors, which helps me get used to the joystick controller before I let myself lose on the pavements. I chose several other add-ons such as the golf ball joystick, the extra length upholstery, two upgraded batteries etc, and I am also seriously considering getting the extendable leg rests, as I have very fragile knees and ankles that dislocate easily if knocked. I also have trouble getting my feet back onto the single foot plate, due to limited mobility in my knees. I'm now looking forward to being able to write to Wheelchair Services and explaining that after an 18 month wait just for a referral, that I have now been told I didn't need as I was already on their books, that I now have a wheelchair that I feel completely happy and comfortable with, and that I know is right for me, and not some ugly monstrosity that someone else has chosen for me. If I have to do the rest of my life in a wheelchair, I' rather have one I feel stylish in, than one I want to cover with blankets as I'm ashamed of it. The Freedom Pro ST from Etech Mobility suits me down to the ground, and was worth me pulling money out of my funeral fund for. Have had great customer service from Etech Mobility. They really stand out with their willingness to go the extra mile to help their customers.

As an electric wheelchair user for many years I thought it was about time I purchased a replacement. I haven’t been very far in it yet but so far it’s fine. What I like most (apart from the colour!) is the battery system, press a button and you pull out the battery, easy! Makes charging a breeze. I will write another review when I’ve been using it for a while.

I bought a chair instead of a scooter due to not having to stretch arms for handles This chair is comfortable, stylish and does what it says. I love that I can go on different terrains as I enjoy walks in the woods and the countryside. Tried it on hills, gravel, grass, tarmac. Only downside is the length of the battery duration, that could be a bit better.

I am *so* excited! I have CRPS in all 4 limbs, degenerative spine & haven't been out much this year due to a setback & suspicion of MS on top of it all. I've been feeling like the depression's creeping back in more & more as I do less & less. BUT then My Etech chair came last week & it is giving me back my freedom!! Last week we've been out a couple of times; to the park & around the block & this is *everything* I could have hoped for and more. Comfortable, secure (I feel safe going up & down kerbs! I never did in my manual chair - Sorry to anyone who's ever pushed me, I love you, but it felt so rickety). I can't stop grinning; after a crappy year, this has cheered me up immensely. Thankyou for giving me independance *IN STYLE*. I love the joystick control; it is so easy to get the hang of (though I've been a gamer for 20 years, so kinda used to them by now!) The horn is a fab addition & I love that there's a help button for those who can't always verbalise for whatever reason; actually can't believe you've thought of pretty much everything! Also; I won't be travelling at the top speed as in this vid regularly, just realised I can't remember what it felt like to run, so tried it at the park. I'll be sensible now! ❤️‍🩹 thankyou again!

I went out today with my adult children and my granddaughter. I previously would have passed because I'd have slowed them done or had to repeatedly stop to rest. Today they were having to keep up with me 😁. It handled everything in its way and even when I thought it wouldn't get me into certain places, it did. Love it thank you, you've given me a new life .

Fantastic chair, and my wife loves it. It's a bit heavy when lifting in and out of the car, but well worth the struggle to be out about. The customer service was excellent, really professional, and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I have been struggling with mobility for a while now and finally decided I needed help. So happy I found the team at Etech. Online help and emails answered quickly and professionally. Was helped to choose what would work best for me. No hard sell, just help and advice. Got my chair for New Year and already it's made such a difference. I can pretty much go anywhere! I got to do a 2 hour dog walk with hubby and our pooches. My chair managed gravel paths, up hill, down hill, even a muddy forest floor! Can't thank the team enough. The chair is beautiful, easy to charge, fold and put in the boot. And it's PURPLE! I don't feel old, I just feel free now!

I am so pleased with my new purple wheelchair. It is comfortable, stylish and good on various terrain. It's so much better than my old scooter. It folds down nicely and fits in the boot space of a small car. I've only had it a few days but I can't really fault it so far. It does struggle slightly if there is a camber to the pavement, and won't come to a complete stop straight away. So I have ended up in the road and also in a hedge when I have not wanted to be. I think that I probably just need to get used to driving it.

I ordered this model of electric wheelchair as it was supposed to be lightweight. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out as i hoped it would. I am unable to lift the chair by myself & it’s not easy even for 2 people lifting it, so now i’ve got to get a ramp. It doesn’t fit in any of our car boots & only fits in my mums Kia. On the plus side i feel safe in the chair & i’m getting used to working the controls. Unfortunately the freedom i hoped for hasn’t worked out as it’s so heavy. I love the colours of the chair & padded seat/ back cover. When i was looking into getting a Electric Wheelchair, Etech bombarded me with emails, I had trouble paying for it, i thought the payment had gone through , so after a week i rang to see where it was, to find out the payment had gone through. So we started again & the only real contact was a phone call a week later to say my chair colour was out of stock. After 2weeks i rang to see what was happening to be told its on its way. I couldn’t fault the customer service advisors as they were polite, friendly & very helpful.

The chair is brilliant. We went on a lengthy walk / ride with the dogs for me to get used to the chair's controls. First time I've been out for a long while without my wife having to push me. It's much better to maintain your own independence where possible. I use an additional cushion to give me the extra height to get out of the chair but normally you wanted want it. If the designers/ manufacturers were to upgrade this chair, I do have two suggestions that would make it really excellent. The small casters, the two casters that are part of the stability of the chair obviously need to be fixed but the other two casters which only come into use when the chair is folded, could they be made to rotate. It would make the folded chair easier to go round corners rather than lifting it. Secondly, the foot rest I found to be too narrow for my size 10s and my foot keeps slipping off. I prefer the two individual foot rests. Now this is not a criticism of the chair, it's just my opinion of my own preferences.

I am extremely happy with my wheelchair. As a plus-size ambulatory user, I have found it to be powerful, stable, and reliable, with excellent battery life. I opted for the larger battery upgrade, which has proven to be well worth it. One feature I particularly appreciate is the ease of charging. The battery unit can be removed from the chair, making it convenient to charge indoors without having to move the entire wheelchair. Delivery was prompt, and the wheelchair arrived very well packaged and in excellent condition. The service I received at the Birmingham showroom was outstanding from start to finish. All of my questions were answered thoroughly, and I was given the opportunity to try the wheelchair before making my decision. The representative was knowledgeable, professional, and clearly had great confidence in the products he was demonstrating. Thank you so much for such an excellent product and customer experience.

So my new powered chair arrived a week ago Thankyou. I’m so pleased I chose the purple one, 💜 and very smart it is too! It’s sturdy and feels safe when I am using it. I have been out and about, and not managed to knock any shelves down in ASDA. (Bonus) 😆 I do need much more practice though before I am completely confident! It’s very touch sensitive, and I am still in “tense” mode but I’m confident that I will get to grips with it soon. Folding it is so easy, but…it is on the heavy side, to lift in and out of the car. Love the wheelchair. Finding the joystick very sensitive but I’m sure I’ll get used to it in time. Had a bi t of trouble keeping one of my feet on the footplate so I’ve purchased the extending leg rests. I have found customer service excellent.

Bought this unit for my wife who struggles to walk. We chose this chair due to it being foldable and able to fit in the boot of the car. The power of the two drive wheel motors and the extended battery was a great bonus to us. Having used it once it performed very well on smooth/flat pavement's and roads. However when the pavement was rough (had been dug and patched) my wife found it very difficult to control and had to go on the road to get a suitable surface to drive on. Although the chair has suspension It has very short travel and I suspect this does not help with the control on rough pavements etc. The look of the chair is great, well made and it is extremely easy to unfold, set up and get going. When the chair is folded and ready to go in the boot of your car, I recommend you remove the batteries and foot plate to lighten the load for lifting. Some people may still find the chair to heavy to lift by themselves. So far we are reasonably happy with the chair but my wife needs more practice to get used to different terrains. First impression say it wont be any good for rougher terrains.

The chair is easy to fold, super lightweight for the people lifting it, easy to manoeuvre, and so comfortable, though I might recommend an additional back cushion if you suffer from lower back pain. I would recommend this chair to anyone.

Love my chair! Gives me back my lost freedom. I can also use it around the kitchen so I'm able to bake again which I used to love until I lost most of my mobility. The only thing I'm not keen on is the footplate, I would much prefer single feet each side that can be moved better to get into the chair. If I put the footplate up to sit down it's awkward to then fold down whilst sitting, but, I'm figuring out ways to overcome this and it's not enough of an issue to not want the chair! The staff were all very helpful and courteous and would definitely recommend. On a personal note I found it a bit impersonal having discussions and test drive in the small area when other customers are there, and due to germ phobias having to use a chair that someone had just tried with no wipe down between uses. I did relay this to the staff who agreed it would be good to wipe down between customers. Again this issue didn't stop me purchasing my chair. I upgraded to to have 2 battery's so that I have more peace of mind if I go out for the day with family which is something I've not been able to do for such a long time and am now looking forward to summer with my granddaughter and great-grandchildren. If you miss your freedom and want an electric chair then go to Etech Mobility....you won't be disappointed.

Great for getting about outdoors, good on grass, gravel rough trekking roads which is what I got it for, yet to try on harder sand but I have confidence. Fairly light and folds up small, it’s comfortable and I love that I can take the batteries out to charge. Steering is easy once I got used to it. Happy with my purchase.

Oh my god! This wheelchair is a dream to steer, i had no control of my old chair, id go rolling into roads, but with this chair I feel safe. And I’m also comfortable , I don’t need extra cushions to support me. This wheelchair has made going out enjoyable again, the batteries last all day, and it’s given me the freedom and confidence to go out on my own, knowing that it can handle any path no matter how uneven it is. Wish I bought this chair sooner! Oh, and the colour is divine, much more my style.
